Tue: Teva rally lifts TASE

Teva and Tower led the market higher today while Harel and Israel Chemicals declined.

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange rose today. The Tel Aviv 35 Index rose 0.54% to 1,553.19 points; the Tel Aviv 125 Index rose 0.49% to 1,413.19 points; and the BlueTech Global Index rose 0.44% to 379.16 points. The TelBond 20 corporate bond index rose 0.03% to 347.17 points. Trading turnover was NIS 1.07 billion.

On the foreign currency market, the Bank of Israel set the shekel-dollar representative rate unchanged at NIS 3.643/$ from Monday's rate and set the shekel-euro rate down 0.148% at 4.115/€.

On the market, Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NYSE: TEVA; TASE: TEVA) rose 2.26% and Tower Semiconductor Ltd. (Nasdaq: TSEM; TASE: TSEM) rose 3.28% for the biggest rise on the Tel Aviv 35 Index. Melisron Ltd. (TASE: MLSR) rose 2.11% and Azrieli Group Ltd. (TASE: AZRG) rose 1.25%. Oil Refineries Ltd. (TASE:ORL) rose 1.23%, NICE Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: NICE; TASE: NICE) rose 0.51% and Bank Leumi (TASE: LUMI) rose 0.76%.

Israel Chemicals (TASE: ICL: NYSE: ICL) fell 0.35% on the day's biggest trading turnover Harel Insurance Investments and Financial Services Ltd. (TASE: HARL) fell 1.01% for the biggest fall on the Tel Aviv 35 Index and Mizrahi Tefahot Bank (TASE:MZTF) fell 0.27%.
