Gambling giant Unibet seeks Israeli startups

The European online betting firm is sending representatives to meet 20 entrepreneurs in Tel Aviv.

Online gambling operator Unibet, which offer sports betting and casino games on desktop and mobile, is looking to invest in Israeli startups. Its executives are expected to arrive in Israel this week and hold an event on Thursday in the startup space Cowork Bay, during which they will meet local entrepreneurs and consider potential investments.

Unibet operates in several European nations like France, Italy, and the UK as well as Australia. The online gambling firm trades at a valuation of $18.7 billion. It is seeking startups operating in the 'games of chance' space and in the cyber sector.

Of all the startups that petition the company for a chance to pitch, 20 entrepreneurs will be invited to a 20-minute meeting on Thursday.

Unibet is in the acquisition process last month it bought iGame Holding for $65 million and in July it acquired Stan James Group.
