Tali Grapes has signed an agreement to export grapes to leading UK retail chains, including Marks and Spencer and Sainsbury.
Tali Grapes Ltd., owned by Moshav Lakhish, has signed an agreement to export grapes to leading UK retail chains, including Marks and Spencer and Sainsbury.
Tali Grapes CEO David Ivri said the company would export 1,200 tons of grapes to the UK worth ₤1.5 million. Most grapes exported to the UK comprise seedless Superior and Thompson. He said Tali Grapes had boosted exports to the UK 90%, compared with the 2004 season.
Tali Grapes will export $2.6 million worth of grapes this summer. The company’s sales turnover is NIS 70 million a year. 15% of the crop is exported.
With 4,000 dunam (1,000 acres), Moshav Lakhish has Israel’s largest vineyards for table grapes. Ivri said the moshav was projected to market 16,000 tons of Tali Grapes this summer.
