Rafael to display APC arms, armor at DSEi in London

Rafael’s RCWS-30 recently passed field tests in Finland, and its add-on reactive armor is already a success with the US military.

Rafael Armament Development Authority Ltd. will display its remote-controlled 30mm cannon station and add-on reactive armor mounted on the British Army’s FV432 armored personnel carrier (APC) at the DSEi 2005 (Defence Systems and Equipment International Exhibition and Conference). DSEi 2005 opens on September 13 in London.

The RCWS-30 (Remote Controlled Weapon Station for 30mm Cannon) recently passed field tests in Finland on the Finnish Army Patria Armored Modular Vehicle (AMV) and in Israel on the IDF’s Achzarit APC. Soldiers can safely operate the cannon from within their vehicle, thereby minimizing exposure and danger. The IDF already uses the Enforcer - a 7.62mm RCWS.

Rafael’s add-on reactive armor is already a success with the US military. At DSEi 2005, Rafael will mount its add-on reactive on the British Army’s FV432 APC (the British version of the US M-113 APC) and Warrior APC, and Sweden’s CV90.

Rafael attaches great importance to the European market in general and British market in particular. It collaborates with Britain’s BAE Systems (LSE:BA) and Selex - Sensors and Airborne Systems Ltd., and other companies.

Other Rafael products on display at DSEi 2005 include the Litening Airborne Infra-Red Navigation and Targeting Pod, Matador MP - Multi-purpose breaching munitions and Matador WP Wall breaching munitions, Protector naval unmanned surface vehicle (USV), RCWS systems, SADS - Acoustic Small Arms Detection System, SkyLite - Canister-launched mini-unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), and Spike ER Helicopter Missile, Trophy - Active protection for combat vehicles.
