The Є5 million Israeli-German co-production will be shot in Jerusalem.
JCS Productions has purchased the rights for the filming of Amos Oz's worldwide best-seller novel "A Tale Of Love And Darkness".
The book sold over 100,000 copies in Israel alone, and has been translated to over 15 languages. "A Tale Of Love And Darkness" is autobiographical, telling the story of Oz's Jerusalem childhood, his mother's suicide, and the breaking apart of his family.
JCS Productions stated today that the film will be shot in Jerusalem at an estimated cost of over Є5 million. The international co-production partners JCS Productions with a large privately-held German production company and a major German public televison channel.
Oz, one of Israel's most celebrated authors, recently received Germany's prestigeous Goethe Prize for 2005.
