Smart Link Ltd. today announced that it will spin-off its VoIP business as Voxelle Ltd.
Voxelle will focus on providing complete semiconductor and software solutions for manufacturers of VoIP peripherals and systems in the consumer and small office - home office (SOHO) arenas.
Netanya-based Smart Link is a major developer and supplier of software-based communications products that provide Internet access for PC Set-Top Boxes and internet appliance OEM markets. Smart Link has offices in Israel, the US, the UK, Taiwan and China.
Smart Link stressed today that its existing VoIP customers will continue to be fully supported by Voxelle and will not be impacted by the spin-off. Current product designs will also not be affected by the spin-off, as they will continue to be supported by the same technical and business resources.
Voxelle will gain responsibility of all Smart Link VoIP related products, intellectual property, together with an experienced R&D team. Voxelle will be headquartered in Netanya, with offices in Boston, Taipei, and Shenzhen.
Smart Link CEO Moty Mebel will be CEO of Voxelle, Smart Link COO Kapriel Karagozyan will be Voxelle president, and Smart Link VP marketing and product development Ronen Bartal will have that post at Voxelle. A significant part of Smart Link’s sales, marketing and customer support teams are also being transferred to Voxelle.
Mebel said, "Over the past few years, we have diligently invested in VoIP and nurtured this activity. Our efforts yielded an attractive new product line along with a pipeline of patented technologies and products. It is now time to fully capitalize on these efforts by launching Voxelle as a well-funded and experienced independent entity. Voxelle already captured a long roster of design-wins for its recently introduced TLink Personal VoIP Gateway solution. We are looking forward to seeing a variety of Voxelle-enabled products on retail shelves in time for the holiday season."
