The Israel-America Chamber of Commerce has established a food, beverages, and consumables committee to help Israeli food companies market their products and technology in the US.
JH Chapman Group chairman Howard Bernstein and Kehe Food Distributors kosher foods director Joseph Plueger are co-chairing the committee.
Bernstein said that the group had a great deal of experience in marketing to US consumers, which it was placing at the disposal of Israeli companies. Pleuger added that the committee would help companies meet the challenges of the highly competitive US market.
In order to obtain assistance, companies must fill out an application form with a description of the product, marketing strategy, and resources available for penetrating the market. The committee will evaluate the potential success, and decide on aid accordingly.
Albertsons corporate kosher marketing and operations manager Yakov Yarmove said that the goal was to identify potential and commitment to succeeding in the US.
The committee began to contact companies at the Kosherfest 2005 food exhibition in New York in November, and is now looking for additional Israeli companies.
