Founded in 2001, the foundation has supported joint research by 40 Israeli and South Korean companies.
The board of directors of the Korea Israel Industrial R&D Foundation (KORIL-RDF), headed by Israeli Chief Scientist Dr. Eli Opper, has approved grants totaling $1.2 million for six joint projects with budgets totaling $2 million.
At its meeting last week, the board of directors approved grants for four new international joint projects by Israeli and South Korean companies. Three feasibility studies were referred for final consideration.
Last year, the foundation approved thirteen projects, including a joint project by Israeli company Sunlight Medical and South Korean company Prosonic for development of an ultrasound system to diagnose osteoporosis and bone density.
Founded in 2001, KORIL-RDF has supported joint research by 40 Israeli and South Korean companies. Its annual budget is $3 million, and the deadline for submitting joint requests to the next board of directors meeting is January 2006.
