IDE Technologies to export 7 desalination units

One will be delivered to Endesa’s Canary Islands power station.

IDE Technologies Ltd., owned by Israel Chemicals Ltd. (TASE: CHIM) and Delek Group Ltd. (TASE: DLEKG), will supply desalination units to power stations in Spain and Mexico in contracts worth $4.6 million. The units will provide fresh water for generators.

One unit will be delivered to a power station in the Canary Islands owned by Endesa SA (IBEX:ELE). This will be IDE’s fifth desalination unit for this power station and the 61st unit on the islands.

Two desalination units will be delivered to the Mexico Federal Electricity Commission (CFE).

IDE also recently won a $90 million tender to supply four desalination units to Indian Oil Corporation Ltd.’s (BSE:530965) Gujarat Refinery, one of the world’s largest. This contract will increase the number of IDE desalination units at the refinery to nine.

IDE president and CEO Avshalom Felber said this was another step forward for the company, expanding its activities in the international desalination facilities market.
