“Defense News”: Elbit Systems has new IKM system

The Israeli government is using the Intelligence Knowledge Management system to link its security organizations.

“Defense News” reports that Elbit Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: ESLT; TASE: ESLT) has a new product: an Intelligence Knowledge Management (IKM) system that mines data needed for making operative decisions by the defense forces.

In article entitled “Shadow Wars”, “Defense News” says the IKM system utilizes many of the sensor-fused, networked, command, control and intelligence capabilities developed for tactical use by the IDF to create a broader-based strategic system for national intelligence purposes.

“Defense News” notes that security classification restrictions prevented Elbit Systems executives from disclosing the identity of the IKM system’s customer, Israeli government sources suggested that many of the automated data processing capabilities and analytical tools used by Israeli organizations originated in Elbit Systems’ laboratories.

Elbit Systems is prime contractor for the IDF’s Ground Forces Digitalization Program, the land-forces modernization effort to link myriad imaging sensors, electronic signals and communications systems on a secure command-and-control network.
