Golden Pages (Dapey Zahav), controlled by Markstone Capital Partners Group LLC, is in advanced negotiations to acquire Professor.co.il, which operates a database and information service for students. A deal is reportedly on the verge of being closed.
Golden Pages said in response, “We do not conduct our business in the newspapers.”
If the deal goes through, the acquisition of Professor.co.il will follow last year’s acquisition of 70% of Zap, which operates a price comparison website. The Zap deal was carried out at a company value of NIS 14 million.
Markstone acquired Golden Pages from Aurec for NIS 500 million 18 months ago. Golden Pages has subsequently been trying to expand its business beyond being a telephone directory, which is still its primary business. Founded 35 years ago, Golden Pages provides hard copy and online classified ads and directories.
18 months ago, Professor.co.il acquired Student Housing Services for an estimated NIS 1 million.
