70 Israeli exporters are to attend five international exhibitions this month in Singapore, Barcelona, New York, Moscow and Nuremburg. The most significant of the five for Israel’s defense export sector, is the Asian Aerospace 2006 due to be held from February 21-26 at the Changi Exhibition Center in Singapore.
The ten leading Israeli exhibitors at the Singapore salon are The Israel Aircraft Industries Ltd., The Israel Military Industries Ltd., Elisra Group, Elbit Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: ESLT; TASE: ESLT), Rafael Armament Development Authority Ltd., Tadiran Communications Ltd. (TASE:TDCM), BAE, Rokar International , Hydromechanical Engineering Ltd, Ness Technologies Inc. (Nasdaq:NSTC), Orbit/FR (Nasdaq: ORFR.OB) and SIBAT The Foreign Defense Assistance and Defense Export Association.
The companies will exhibit at the Bank Leumi pavillion (TASE:LUMI) booth that will be opened by the Singapore Export Institute. The trade show will be attended by all the leading avionics manufacturers, including Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Airbus, and British Aerospace.
The Israeli companies will present a range of new products and technologies at the show in the 1000 square meter booth at one of the largest international air shows, held biannually in Singapore. The largest event of all in this sector is the annual trade show at the Paris Air Show at Le Bourget.
Exports to Singapore (excluding diamonds) increase 1.5% in 2005 to $325 million, while imports increased 34% to $321 million.
Aside from Singapore, 44 Israeli companies participated last week at the 3GSM world congress in Barcelona, considered the showcase event of the cellular industry. Among the Israeli companies attending were RAD-Bynet Data Communications, RAD Data Communications Ltd., Radcom Ltd. (Nasdaq: RDCM), Radvision Ltd. (Nasdaq: RVSN; TASE:RVSN), Alvarion Ltd. (Nasdaq: ALVR; TASE: ALVR), Telemessage, Infongyn and others. Israeli exports to Spain increased 15.4% in 2005 to $688 million, while imports decreased 6% to $614 million.
