11 IT security cos set up cooperative consortium

The I Safe Group will jointly market and offer comprehensive solutions to customers.

11 Israeli IT security companies have founded a joint marketing consortium, which will present the companies’ systems at CeBIT next month in Hanover, Germany. The companies will jointly present their wares under “The I Safe Group”, a basket of IT security solutions.

The I Safe Group is backed by government agencies, including Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute and the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor. The I Safe Group’s joint marketing budget is NIS 500,000 for its first year of activity, half of which comes from the Export Institute and Ministry of Industry.

If The I Safe Group’s sales from its joint marketing activities exceeds a predetermined amount, the Export Institute and Ministry of Industry’s financing will be recognized as loans to the participating companies. CeBIT is the second exhibition The I Safe Group is participating in; the first was an exhibition in France in October 2005.

The idea behind The I Safe Group is to consolidate several technology companies to create synergy. Each participating company in the group develops and markets various and complementary IT security solutions. In other words, the companies are not competitors. As a consortium, the companies can compete in international markets, thereby making it possible to achieve a level of marketing successes that they would not be able to achieve individually.

The I Safe Group said technological cooperation by the companies made it possible to offer comprehensive solutions to customers, and jointly participate in tenders and large projects.

The I Safe Group’s participating companies are Applicure Technologies Ltd., Beyond Security Ltd., Bioguard Components And Technologies Ltd., ControlGuard Ltd., Gita Technologies Ltd., IP Homenet Ltd., iTcon Ltd., Novolution Inc., PinApp Ltd., PureSight Technologies Ltd., and Snapshield Ltd..

Managing Investment Worldwide CEO David Hava manages The I Safe Group. He said, “Marketing budgets and [the cost of] participating in exhibitions are high even for established companies. The consortium makes it possible for companies to present in a larger pavilion. Each company has a stall in a joint pavilion, paying for only six sq.m.”
