Publicis-Ariely, the Israeli affiliate of global advertising group Publicis (NYSE: PUB), is to open a local branch of Japanese advertising giant Dentsu Inc. (TSE: 4234). Sources inform ''Globes'' that the new Dentsu office in Israel will operate independently of the local Publicis Arieli or Geller Nissim partners.
Dentsu is the largest advertising firm in Japan and one of the largest worldwide. Headquartered in Tokyo, the group also has operations in other business and financial sectors in addition to its media and advertising activities. Dentsu has a 30% share in the advertising market in Japan, which also serves as its “air time bank.” The group has a standing policy of acquiring 40-50% of available advertising time on Japanese television.
Dentsu has a 15% share in the international Publicis Group.
