The development will include the leveling of a 300 by 60 meter stretch of the beach front.
The Eilat Municipality will invest NIS 1.3 million in the development of the Mifratz Hashemesh beachfront and has applied to the Ministry of Interior to register the beach as listed site.
The development work will include the leveling of a 300 by 60 meter beach strip, as well as the construction of a promenade, car park and lighting. There will also be an access route for disabled persons on the western side of the strip in addition to a sun bed section and two diving areas. The site will be planted with trees and will also have electricity and water infrastructures.
The Eilat Municipality plans to apply for listed status for the Dekel Beach, adjacent to the Meridian Hotel and the Coral Reef beach. It is also negotiating with Eilat-Ashkelon Pipeline Co. for the allocation of a stretch of beach front for public use.
