Emblaze-VCON licenses videoconferencing platform

Emblaze-VCON and Avistar's Collaboration Properties will also explore joint development efforts.

Avistar Communications Corp. (NASDAQ:AVSR), a desktop video collaboration platform provider, and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Collaboration Properties, Inc. (CPI), today announced that CPI has entered into an assignment agreement to license CPI's extensive patent portfolio on a royalty bearing, non-exclusive, worldwide basis to Emblaze-VCON Ltd.

Emblaze-VCON, a member of the Emblaze (LSE: BLZ), provides IP solutions for corporate virtual meetings.

Under the assignment agreement, CPI granted Emblaze-VCON a royalty-bearing license according to its standard terms and conditions for the field of videoconferencing.

The companies are also exploring the opportunity to jointly research and develop new desktop video collaboration solutions.

Emblaze-VCON VP R&D Naji Sourani said, "This new agreement dovetails with the vision for our overall group offering and brings cutting-edge desktop video capability to our ever-increasing range of solutions, technologies and products geared toward supporting next-generation services."
