K. Dictionaries develops software for dictionaries in 40 languages.
K. Dictionaries Ltd. , a manufacturer of linguistics software will cooperate will international knowledge company Britannica in developing and integrating software for electronic encyclopedias and bilingual dictionaries for cellular handsets. Under the agreement, K. Dictionaries will integrate an English-Chinese dictionary with encyclopedic content in cellular phones marketed in China and Taiwan. The project is likely to be followed with further joint ventures with Britannica in other markets in Asia and Europe.
K. Dictionaries was founded in 1993 by Ilan Kernerman as a spin-off from from Kernerman Publishing, which specializes in the development bilingual dictionaries as well as publication of the Oxford series of dictionaries since 1986. To date, the company has co-developed content with publishing, technology and media companies for dictionaries in 40 languages.
