CERN honors Israeli co Fibernet

Fibernet provides fiber optic cables for the real-time transmission of experimental data simulating the Big Bang to CERN’s control room.

Europe’s largest particle research laboratory, CERN, based in Geneva, today honored Yokne’am-based Fibernet Ltd.

The honor ceremony took place at the Office of the Chief Scientist in Tel Aviv. CERN VP awarded Fibernet a certificate of appreciation as outstanding supplier for 2005. CERN selected Fibernet to provide fiber optic cables for the real-time transmission of experimental data simulating the Big Bang to CERN’s control room.

Fibernet and CERN have been cooperating for three years, in a contract estimated to be worth $6 million to date.
