Ben Gurion departures strikebound

Eilat Airport, which had been shut by a strike from 13:00, has reopened.

Since 16:00 today, Israel Airports Authority workers have prevented flights from Ben Gurion Airport near Tel Aviv, Israel's main airport, from taking off. The Airports Authority has applied for a court injunction because of what it calls "the irresponsible behavior of the general workers committee."

Eilat Airport, which had been strikebound from 13:00, has reopened.

The workers committee at Ben Gurion said the strike was in protest at the terms of employment of contract workers through manpower agencies.
