Senior Kadima party figure Tzachi Hanegbi allegedly made political appointments as Minister of the Environment.
“Itim News Agency” reports that Attorney General Menachem (Meni) Mazuz today notified Speaker of the Knesset MK Dalia Itzhik and the attorney of MK Tzachi Hanegbi (Kadima) of his final decision to indict Hanegbi for political appointments at the Ministry of the Environment when he served as its minister.
The investigation was opened against Hanegbi following a report by former State Comptroller Eliezer Goldberg. The report found prime facie evidence that Hanegbi made political appointments when he served as minister of the environment. Mazuz subsequently ordered the Israel Police to open an investigation into the allegations against Hanegbi, and today Mazuz announced that he will indict him.
