Israeli start-up ILCU Ltd., which has developed a leisure activity portal, enabling visitors to post their preferred activity on the site, rate future activities and use the site as their own appointment diary, has entered into a partnership with the Hebrew version of “TimeOut” magazine, a title published by SiglerGroup Inc..
ILCU CEO and founder Ido Tal said, “TimeOut Israel” is the opening shot for us. We aim to reach the other countries in which the magazine is published.”
ILCU has a number of private investors, among them Dr. Yossi Vardi, and the chief developer of match.com, one of the world’s largest dating sites. ILCU’s revenue comes mainly from payments for event sponsorship services, unlike those events that site visitors can advertise on their own.
Tal says ILCU is active in 350 cities across the US, with a total of 500,000 events advertised through the site. The company is set to launch a major campaign in conjunction with several content providers.
