NetVision Ltd.’s (TASE: ) Nana portal yesterday acquired Israblog. The deal brought to an end three months of rumors about negotiations between the parties.
Sources inform ''Globes'' that Israblog founder and manager Yariv Havot had been negotiating with at least two other companies before closing the sale with Nana.
Founded on August 8, 2001, Israblog is one of Israel’s largest blog sites. On June 13, 2004, Israblog signed a cooperation agreement with Nana, under which Israblog’s storage moved to NetVision’s server farm. NetVision launched its Nana portal in 1999.
On Israblog’s fifth anniversary in 2006, Havot said over 5,800 messages were posted on its site every day.
