Amdocs to provide content services to Alltel

Market sources estimate the size of the contract extension at a few million dollars.

The acquisition of Qpass is beginning to pay off for Amdocs Ltd. (NYSE: DOX). Today, the company announced a a multi-year contract extension to provide premium content services to Alltel's more than 11 million wireless subscribers. Alltel Wireless, America's largest network, will continue to use Amdocs' Qpass Digital Commerce solution to deliver premium content services to its customers. The size of the contract extension was not disclosed, but market sources estimate it at a few million dollars.

Last week, Amdocs announced that it would supply Amp'd Mobile with its Qpass digital commerce platform for the support of third party content and services, under a multi-year contract.

Amdocs has had a stormy period between the two contracts. The company cut its revenue guidance for fiscal year 2007, confirmed reports that it will lay off employees, and saw its share fall 9%. The company’s present market cap is $7.4 billion.

Amdocs' Qpass Digital Commerce solution helps support and manage Alltel's premium content offerings such as ringtones, games and messaging. The Qpass platform also provides Alltel with better customer care tools and allows the service provider to increase its operational efficiency.

Amdocs chief marketing officer Michael Matthews said, "Amdocs continues to play a significant and integral role helping Alltel grow its portfolio of innovative offerings. Digital commerce is a relationship-oriented business that has tremendous growth potential. We remain committed to developing solutions that provide for this evolving marketplace."

Amdocs will publish its financial report for the first fiscal quarter of 2007 on Wednesday.
