Medical simulator co Simbionix raises $3m

Simbionix develops training simulators for doctors and nurses.

Medical simulator start-up Simbionix Ltd. has raised $3 million in a financing round led by Cleveland, Ohio-based Early Stage Partners. Astro Manufacturing Inc., Simbionix’s US partner, which manufactures the company’s products, also participated in the round.

Simbionix develops training simulators for doctors and nurses. The company had $6-7 million in sales in 2005, and CEO Gary Zamler says growth in 2006 was over 20%, and predicted 40% growth in 2007.

Simbionix sells its products in 35 countries. The company develops its simulators in collaboration with most leading makers of minimally invasive medical devices.
