Web 2.0 co Yedda raises $2.5m

The company is developing a semantic search engine.

Web 2.0 start-up Yedda Inc. has raised $2.5 million in a financing round led by Genesis Partners. Private investors also participated.

Yedda is developing a semantic search engine capable of analyzing questions and requests and inviting surfers to share subjective knowledge based on experience and opinion, and answer questions on Yedda or other websites. Yedda CEO Avichay Nissenbaum and CTO Yaniv Golan founded the company in 1995. Golan previously served as VP R&D at SmarTeam Corp. (now ENOVIA SmarTeam), which was sold to Dassault Systemes.
