Soft drink sales fell 11% to NIS 319 million in 2006 from NIS 359 million in 2002.
The health trend has reached the non-alcoholic beverages market. Nielsen Reports says sales of cola drinks have fallen continuously over the past five years.
Central Bottling Company (Coca-Cola Israel) has a 74% share of the non-alcoholic beverages market, Jafora-Tabori Ltd. (which markets the RC Cola and Crystal labels) has a market share of 16.6%, and Tempo Beer Industries (TASE: TMPO) (which markets Pepsi) has a market share of 8.1%.
Soft drink sales fell 11% to NIS 319 million in 2006 from NIS 359 million in 2002. Coca-Cola Israel’s market share in quantitative terms fell from 29.2% in 2002 to 22.4% in 2006, and in financial terms it fell from 33% to 27.8%.
Iced tea sales rose from NIS 7.3 million in 2002 to NIS 31.3 million in 2006. Iced tea’s market share in financial terms rose from 2% in 2002 to 2.7% in 2006, and rose in quantitative terms from 2.7% to 3.2%.
