Chromagen, DiSP, EDIG, Millennium Electric, and SolarPower have been picked in the $154 million project.
New Jersey is setting up a $154 million 20-megawatt solar energy plant for the Meadowlands. The New Jersey Meadowlands Commission (NJMC) is seeking various solar power technologies that might be included in the project. The Commission contacted the Samuel Neaman Institute for Advanced Studies in Science and Technology at the Technion Israel Institute of Technology to locate suitable Israeli technologies. The Neaman Institute chose five Israeli companies: Chromagen Ltd., DiSP Distributed Solar Power Ltd., EDIG Ltd., Millennium Electric TOU Ltd., and SolarPower Ltd.
Millennium Electric will also participate in a Israeli-German solar energy project worth €1 million in the first stage. Israel will invest NIS 1 million in this project to build training and demonstration facilities for solar energy systems.
