The shekel-euro exchange rate rose 0.4% to NIS 5.4853/€ in morning trading.
The shekel weakened against the dollar and euro in foreign currency trading this morning. The shekel-dollar exchange rate has been rising since Friday, distancing itself from the NIS 4/$ threshold that it almost touched on Thursday.
The Bank of Israel published its Company Survey for the second quarter of 2007 yesterday. Respondents predict that the exchange rate will reach NIS 4.25/$ at the end of the second quarter. “Barron’s” predicts that the dollar will stage a dramatic recovery by year end against other currencies.
The shekel-dollar exchange rate rose 0.41% in morning trading to NIS 4.0345/$. The shekel-euro exchange rate rose 0.4% to NIS 5.4853/€. On Friday, the shekel fell 0.1% against the dollar, but rose 0.05% against the euro.
