Incentive Technological Incubator portfolio company Valtech Ltd. has won the Rad BioMed Incubator entrepreneur prize. The award was made today at the ISLI-Biomed 2007 conference in Tel Aviv, organized by Israel Life Sciences Industry.
Vatech is developing percutaneous mitral valve repair technology. The device repairs the heart valves using catheterization, instead of surgery, as is currently done.
Projects by Aespira Ltd. and a second company, whose name was not disclosed, reached the final stage. Aespira is developing a novel and cost effective dry-powder inhaler for delivering formulations using breath power only. The inhaler, the size of a credit card, is used only once. The other company is developing macrophages made from donated blood, which will speed up repair of the heart muscle after infarcation.
