Information disaster recovery firm Axxana raised $5 million from Gemini Israel Funds in an initial round of financing.
Axxana operates in the area of Information Disaster Recovery, a fast growing sector since the 9/11 catastrophe in 2001.
Axxana's solution enables complete data recovery, at a secondary site which may be situated remotely from the primary location.
According to IVC-Online, Axxana was established in 2005 by CEO Dr. Alex Winokur, Eli Efrat, and Dan Hochberg.
Before the current round of financing, the firm raised funds from private investors including Roni Einav and Dalia Prashker, founders of New Dimension Software, which was sold for $550 million, Dan Barnea, and the founders of Exalink, which was sold for $500 million.
