Applicure signs deal with Norwich Union

Norwich Union bought the company’s dotDefender to protect its servers.

Website and enterprise networks protection company Applicure Technologies Ltd. (TASE:APCR) has signed a contract to sell its dotDefender product to Norwich Union, the largest insurance services company in the UK and the fifth largest insurance group in the world, to protect the company’s servers.

Applicure went public in May. The company posted a loss of NIS 3 million on just NIS 13,000 in sales in 2006. Sales rose to NIS 17,000 for the first quarter of 2007. A contract with a leading insurance company will clearly give the company a big boost.

Applicure did not disclose the size of the contract, but even if the order is for protecting only a small number of servers, it will have strong effect on sales.

Applicure’s customers include Verint Systems Inc. (Pink Sheets: VRNT.PK) the Israeli government server farm, Smile Communications Ltd., Harel Pia Mutual Funds Ltd., and Eliahu Insurance.
