Sabra Salads and Jordan’s Nihad Alhad Hummus will launch two products and open a hummus eatery in Jaffa.
Strauss Group Ltd. (TASE:STEL) subsidiary Sabra Salads Food Industries Ltd. is setting up a NIS 5 million joint venture with a Jordan’s Nihad Alhad Hummus Ltd. Sabra Salads will launch two products and open up a temporary hummus eatery in Jaffa with the Amman-based company.
Sabra Salads general manager David Manevich said, “Hummus originated in Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan. They devised the ingredients of hummus 300-400 years ago. For years, we’ve been trying to find Arab hummus recipes and bring them to Israel.” He added that Sabra Salads looked to raise the level of Israeli hummus and make it “as authentic as possible.”
