Israeli start-up MobileAccess Inc. is providing the platform for a joint Sprint Inc. (NYSE:S) Custom Network Solution and GE Healthcare in-building wireless communications services system for hospitals in North America. Sprint is providing handsets for the GE Carescape Enterprise Access, a single, universal wireless platform powered by MobileAccess Universal Wireless Network technology. The solution will provide hospitals with a comprehensive platform for voice and data communications over secure cellular, Wi-Fi, and telemetry infrastructure that requires only one installation
GE Healthcare adopted the MobileAccess platform for in-building communications solutions, in a contract reportedly worth $7-10 million. GE Healthcare released its Carescape portfolio in May 2007.
