YES CEO Ron Eilon said today he hoped his company had now put the crisis behind it, after a week with no disruptions to television broadcasts.
Speaking this morning on Radio 99 program "Asakim Ba'avir" ("Business on Air"), hosted by “Globes” editor-in-chief Haggai Golan, Eilon said, "We've now had no disturbances for a week and I hope this is all behind us." He refused to be drawn on the source of the disruptions but reiterated that they came from a foreign ship. "They've asked me not to tell, and I don't want to spoil things," he said.
YES will compensate all its subscribers by giving free access to all its premium channels for three months. These will include sports, entertainment, and other paid-for channels. The cost of the benefit is likely to run into millions of shekels.
Asked to comment on YES's handling of the crisis, Eilon replied, "I'm not talking about myself. The crisis was triggered by external sources and we're waiting for the government to inform both us and the nation that the matter has been resolved. I'm not handing out grades."
YES is a subsidiary of Bezeq The Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ).
