The flight to Stanstead Airport is in addition to three flights from Ben Gurion Airport.
Israir Airlines and Tourism Ltd. is stepping up its flight schedule to London ahead of the winter season, and will begin operating direct flights to the UK capital from Eilat. The airline will run a weekly flight to Stanstead Airport, in addition to the three weekly flights it already operates from Ben Gurion during the winter season.
A spokesman for Israir said the airline added the flight in view of the 25% increase in passengers flying with Israir to London, of whom 35% are tourists holidaying in Israel. A large number of these visit Eilat during their visit, which was why the company felt the new line would be worthwhile operating. The airline will use its Airbus A320 aircraft on the service.
