Gigalinx in Hitachi Kokusai deal

Hitachi Kokusai Electric will install the company's video-over-IP technology in its new line of GigE (Gigabit Ethernet) cameras.

Israeli Ethernet video streaming start-up Gigalinx Ltd. has signed a licensing contract with Japan's Hitachi Kokusai Electric Inc. (TSE:6756), which will install the company's video-over-IP technology in its new line of GigE (Gigabit Ethernet) cameras. Sources estimate the size of the contract at several million dollars.

GigaLinx CEO Yoav Neuman said, “The agreement with Hitachi Kokusai is another confirmation of our strong position as a leading supplier of GigE connectivity solutions." Neuman and GigaLinx chairman Michael Goldstein founded the company in 2004. The small size and low power consumption of the company's device enable camera manufacturers to achieve new levels of miniaturization. The solution is designed for the medical and defense markets.

GigaLinx has licensing agreements with Japan's Toshiba Corp. (TSE: 6502; LSE: TOS; XETRA: TSBA), and Britain's E2V Technologies (UK) Ltd. (LSE:E2V).
