Anti-hacker start-up ForeScout raises $5m more

The company develops Network Access Control systems.

Sources inform ''Globes'' that Israeli anti-hacker start-up ForeScout Technologies Ltd. has increased its fourth financing round, adding $5 million to bring the round to $15 million.

ForeScout was founded in 2000 and has raised $40 million to date from Accel Partners, Pitango Venture Capital, Amadeus Capital Partners Ltd., Meritech Capital Partners, Itouchi Corporation (TSE:8001), and others. In 2005, the company refocused its business to Network Access Control (NAC)

ForeScout initially struggled, but its situation appears to have improved. Part of the problem was that companies were unaware of NAC products, and ForeScout had to create the market and educate customers.

The company has announced several deals recently, including with Oracle Corporation (Nasdaq:ORCL) and Sun MicroSystems Inc. (Nasdaq:SUNW) in order to integrate its product with their identification management platforms.
