Upper Galilee and Golan residents will get discounts on tickets.
Ayit Aviation and Tourism Services Ltd. has won the Ministry of Transport tender to operate a flight route between Tel Aviv and Rosh Pina in the Upper Galilee. The maximum one-way fare will be NIS 185for a resident of northern communities, and NIS 260 for other passengers. The ministry will subsidize the difference. ("Ayit" means "eagle" in Hebrew).
Ayit will initially operate four daily flights on the route, two in each direction. The company has three planes, two of which are leased. Currently, the airline's main route is between Tel Aviv and Sde Teman, near Beersheva. It used to fly to Rosh Pina alongside Arkia Airlines Ltd., but will now be the sole operator on this route.
