Czech carmaker Skoda Auto as has unveiled an official picture its next-generation saloon, the "Superb". The new model is wider and larger than the current model, and will be manufactured with the latest Volkswagen technology. Skoda is a subsidiary of Volkswagen AG (XETRA:VOW; LSE:VKW). The car will be unveiled at the Geneva Auto Show in May, and is due to arrive in Israel shortly afterwards.
The Superb will join Israel's fleet of ministerial cars, after Skoda won a tender for ministerial cars a few months ago, alongside the Audi A6.
Superb models will have either a 290-horsepower V6 3.6-liter engine, a 200-horsepower TDI engine, or a direct injection turbo engine ranging from 1.4 liters to 1.8 liters. The gearbox will be an DSG automatic.
Neither Skoda or its Israeli importer have disclosed the price of the new Superb, but it is expected to cost more than the current models, which cost NIS 195,000. The new model Superb is expected to cost more than NIS 200,000.
