Israel's iMedix finalist for "Best Start-Up of 2007"

Among the other front runners are Hulu and Joost.

Israeli start-up iMedix Ltd., which has developed a combined health information search engine and interactive platform, has been short-listed as one of the five finalist in the "Crunchies 2007" award for the best start-up of the year. The Crunchies is a collaboration project between GigaOm, Read/WriteWeb, VentureBeat and TechCrunch, and is their first annual competition and award ceremony to recognize and celebrate the most compelling start-ups, Internet and technology innovations of the year. A total of 82,000 start-ups competing in 20 different categories entered the competition.

Other finalists are Hulu, a video sharing site jointly launched by NBC and Fox, and Internet television venture Joost, whose developers were also behind Skype and Kaza.

iMedix CEO Amir Leitersdorf and president and CMO Iri Amirav told "Globes", "We are thrilled to be among the top five start-ups for 2007. We intend to expand our social-healthcare network in the coming year, and develop more tools to meet an ever increasing need for healthcare information searches online."
