Given Imaging wins US Veterans contract

The contract includes the Indian Health Services and the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

Given Imaging Ltd. (Nasdaq: GIVN; TASE: GIVN) has won a new five-year Federal Supply Schedule contract from the US Veteran's Administration National Acquisition Center. The company estimates its total revenue from this contract at $7.5 million. The contract covers all Given Imaging products, including the Given Workstation, PillCam small bowel, PillCam esophagus, and Agile patency capsule.

Yokneam-based Given Imaging said that the contract consolidated existing accounts with the Federal Government and that it provides government entities, including VA Medical Centers, Department of Defense Facilities, Indian Health Services and the Federal Bureau of Prisons, and others with easier access to the company's products.

Given Imaging Inc. president Chris Rowland said, "This contract solidifies a relationship that Given Imaging has built with the Federal Government over the past several years and should facilitate the flow and administration of transactions with the U.S. Government."

Given Imaging closed at $15.45 on Nasdaq on Friday, giving a market cap of $450 million.
