Hershy Friedman now owns 40% of the company.
"Computer for every child" company Fourier Systems Inc. has raised $3.5 million from CBD Star, owned by Hershy Friedman, and Docor International Management Ltd. Friedman has boosted his stake in the company to 40%.
Fourier Systems previously raised $3 million in January 2007 from Friedman and raised $1 million from Docor and Pitango Venture Capital' Polaris I Fund in 1998. For the past two years, the company has produced Student Tablet Personal Computers (NOVA-5000), which includes pedagogic content, data logging devices, and accessories for the educational market. The devices, which include software and a variety of sensors, are used primarily in science classrooms.
In the past year, Fourier has announced a NIS 14 million contract in the US and sold 7,000 computer systems to the Moscow education system in a $6 million contract.
