Mobile advertising start-up Amobee wins Sprint deal

Acura and Fox Searchlight are among the first advertisers.

Mobile advertising start-up Amobee Media Systems Ltd. has signed a contract with another key telecommunications provider following the raft of contract wins it recently announced with Vodafone Group Plc (NYSE: VOD; LSE: VOD) affiliates across Europe. The company will provide its cellular advertising platform to Boost Mobile, a subsidiary of Sprint Nextel Corp (NYSE: S), which is launching a new advertising service. The agreement, which is estimated to be worth several million dollars, will effectively make Amobee Boost Mobile's exclusive reseller, delivering advertising to Boost Mobile's 4.6 million advertisers, most of who are under 30.

Also partnering with Amobee in the agreement are Acura, the luxury automotive brand, and Fox Searchlight Pictures, which have already announced that they will advertise on Boost Mobile’s mobile advertising platform. The first adverts will feature information on Fox Searchlight's upcoming movie "Street Kings."

Amobee CEO Zohar Levkovitz said, "Boost has an influence on the mobile media habits of the under 30 demographic in the US. This relationship was created to attract youth and lifestyle brands which haven’t traditionally invested in interactive advertising."

Boost Mobile VP product development Neal Lindsay added, "Mobile advertising is an excellent vehicle for reaching a growing segment of younger consumers who are drifting away from traditional mediums such as TV and print."
