The firm makes nutritional supplements.
Nutrition supplement maker Enzymotec Ltd. has opened a subsidiary in the US in order to improve the company's sales network, and appointed its VP business development to head the new subsidiary.
Enzymotec signed a number of agreements around the world last year, and has apparently decided that the US has the greatest potential. The company's products are registered as nutrition supplements, but are made by methods and at a level of precision characteristic of pharmaceuticals. Both the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and European Medicines Agency (EMEA) allow the company to make medical claims on the packaging of its products. The company's main areas of business are the prevention of heart attacks, memory improvement, attention disorders in children, and infant formula supplements.
The company has a turnover of several tens of millions of dollars and it is profitable.
