Workforce and payroll management solutions company Synel Industries (TASE: SNEL) has installed 50 biometric fingerprint reader time and attendance machines at the offices of the Ashdod Municipality.
The size of the order was not disclosed but it is estimated at NIS 150,000.
The installation of the new terminals followed an extended pilot which the Ashdod Municipality ran with the consent of its workers' committee. The pilot, which was completed successfully, assessed the terminals' ability to meet the municipality's requirements and provide an appropriate solution to the range of needs that have emerged with the transition to fingerprint-based biometric technology.
The new system, whose installation has just been completed, will record attendance reports using all relevant communications methods - intranet, dial-up modem, and the Internet. The time attendance data recorded on the terminals will be automatically transferred directly to the Ashdod Municipality's control center for processing.
