Spacecom sets new date for Amos 3 satellite launch

The launch, which was due to have taken place last Thursday, was delayed by a technical fault.

Spacecom Satellite Communications Ltd. (TASE:SCC) has announced that the launch of the Amos 3 satellite from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan will now take place April 28.

The satellite, which was developed in partnership with the Israel Aerospace Industries Ltd. (IAI) (TASE: ARSP.B1) MBT Space Division over the past three years, was to have been launched last Thursday, but was abandoned after the last-minute discovery of a fault in the mechanism for separation of the launcher from the support pier. Amos 3 will be positioned at longitude 4° west. This position will enable Spacecom to provide television, radio, and data communications services in the Middle East, Europe, and the east coast of the US.
