The president of Yahoo! spoke at the Israel President's Conference.
"The Internet affects how we live, communicate, and find information. But the more things change, the more they stay the same," said Yahoo! president Susan Decker at the "Revolution of the Internet and new media" panel at the Israel President's conference in Jerusalem. "Alongside the complexity and consumer sophistication, everyone wants to find information and connect as quickly and easily as possible."
This is Decker's first visit to Israel. She said that when she celebrated her 40th birthday, "One of the ten things on my 'To Do List' was to visit Israel. I'm happy to have done it." She added that flew over the company's R&D center in Haifa, which has six employees, and said that it warmed her heart.
Decker said that the real challenge is how to make all this communication more significant. "We once thought that media was one thing and the message was another. That's no longer true. We can all find the things most interesting to us. Content is king, and everyone can join in and share."
