Partner intends to transfer all its cellular services to the center.
Sources inform ''Globes'' that US telecommunications services company Avaya Inc. has won the tender issued by Partner Communications (Nasdaq: PTNR; TASE: PTNR for the building of the new call center to handle the wireline communications services it is due to begin providing in the next few months. Although the project was designed specifically for this purpose, Partner intends to take its existing call center out of service and switch its services to the new center. Partner has an option to also award Avaya the extension work on the new center, but it is not committed to guaranteeing Avaya exclusivity.
The new designated wireline services call center is designed to serve as pilot for the large cellular services call center that Partner intends to build. The center will be one of the largest in Israel with 2,000 work stations.
Avaya won a similar project last year from Hot Cable Systems Media Ltd. (TASE: HOT), whose call center is due to begin operating within the next few weeks. The decision to choose Avaya resulted from Partner's dissatisfaction with its current switchboard which no longer met the company's requirements.
