Amdocs Ltd. (NYSE: DOX) has signed an original equipment manufacturer agreement (OEM) with IBM Corp. (NYSE: IBM), under which Amdocs will embed the IBM DB2 Data Server and the IBM Optim Data Growth solutions with Amdocs' customer management solutions.
The two companies expect that the joint solution will help companies reduce total cost of ownership by maximizing overall application performance while reducing storage and other hardware costs.
Amdocs and IBM will tightly integrate Amdocs CRM with IBM's DB2 and the Optim Data Growth products to capitalize on the advanced data management capabilities of the IBM products. This combined product will offer advanced CRM database compression and archiving tools, automated data recovery utilities, real-time user access to archived customer data to support customized customer relations, and integrated data governance, regulatory compliance and other audit tools.
Amdocs has been launching a number of new products and upgrades with the aim of improving product performance and customer experience.
Amdocs VP Guy Dubois said, "Global companies of all sizes are seeking to improve the customer experience, which requires the ability to handle all customer interactions in a personalized, accurate and efficient manner. This requires resources to ensure high performing, always-available CRM systems that provide real-time access to all customer data.
Amdocs fell 0.3% yesterday in New York Stock Exchange trading to $31.87, reflecting a market cap of $6.6 billion.
