Ananey Communications wants Baltic MTV channels

The MTV Israel operator plans to expand internationally.

Ananey Communications Ltd. (TASE:ANAC) and Viacom Inc. (NYSE:VIA) unit MTV NE are in negotiations to acquire UAB MTV Networks Baltic, the MTV license holder in the Baltic states, for €600,000.

UAB MTV Networks Baltic operates three MTV states in three languages in the three Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. Ananey said that an acquisition, if closed, was another step in its policy to expand internationally. The company operates a number of cable channels and Internet sites in Israel, including MTV and VH1, the Food Channel, the Good Life Channel, the Health Channel, and Nickelodeon.
